Overcoming Struggles with Daily Rituals: Leonie Dawson’s Journey to Creative Goddess Embodiment.

Despite her remarkable success as an entrepreneur and self-made millionaire, Leonie Dawson shares candidly on the Brave New Girls podcast about her daily challenges and growth journey. Her transparency about facing fears and doubts, particularly as she's gotten older, offers valuable insights for anyone pursuing their dreams.

"I find that as I age, it becomes more difficult," Leonie admits. While in her twenties she had "incredible bravado" - running her first retreat at 22 despite never having attended one - she now experiences more second-guessing. Rather than seeing this as a weakness, she views it as an opportunity for deeper understanding: "What a blessing that I get to experience that part too. Now I get to experience this real human embodiment."

This perspective shift is characteristic of Leonie's approach to personal growth. As someone diagnosed with ADHD and autism, she's developed practical strategies to support her wellbeing. These include taking specific supplements designed for ADHD brains, ensuring protein at every meal for stable energy, and maintaining a flexible approach to self-care that responds to her changing needs.

Her daily wellness check-in is refreshingly intuitive: "It's this constant monitoring of 'oh what's needed next?' Is a walk needed next? Is a lay down in bed needed next? Is some quiet time and creativity needed next? Is a little adventure needed next?" Rather than following rigid routines, she flows with her body's signals and emotional needs.

Creativity remains a cornerstone of her wellbeing practice. Since age 16, she's maintained art journals, creating every weekend to "calm the mind, allow the eye to love what it loves, to experiment and to play." Importantly, much of her creative work remains private, existing "for no reason except for my own delight."

When faced with decisions about new projects, Leonie uses a powerful framework shared by her mentor: "At the end of this year, when you look back, would you like to have seen that you've created something that was just so easy for you... or you created something that took every part of you and you can be really proud of yourself for that?"

Now her mission is to help others grow by embodying their inner Creative Goddesses. This is how we outshine the darkness in the world and influence a better way forward.
