And just like that

And just like that… I hadn’t the faintest idea what everyone was talking about this week when that phrase popped up everywhere. Until eventually I realised that Sex and the City had made a comeback, and that was the title.

And just like that… everything became clear.

Do you ever feel like everything feels wrong? Maybe a relationship or where you are living or your job.

And just like that… you decide to up-sticks and hightail it out of life as you knew it. For a better life, a better work life integration, a better version of yourself?

And just like that you change your story.

Jenny Ward helps women who want to change careers or leave work and start a business or stay and get a better deal for themselves. And just like that they get to re-write their story.

Brave New Girl podcast

This week’s Brave New Girl podcast guest is Jenny Ward, and this is the last episode for 2021.

Jenny is a Career & Transition Coach, specializing in professional storytelling, career planning, and network building for women who are ready to finally live a life by design instead of default.

Having experienced home-working, people's ideas have changed around careers, working for others, or even leaving corporate to start their own businesses.  This kind of flexibility wasn't always the case. You left school, got a job and worked the machine until retirement, or left to have kids.

Jenny started out in the same way, always wanting to please and be the good girl. And that faired her well, until it didn't.

From an established and well paid career in recruitment she jumped shipped, trained as a coach and headed back to Canada to raise her little girl in the land where she grew up. And just like that she was living a life she had created, and not just fallen into.

Now she helps women get focused on clarifying skills, identifying any limiting beliefs, crafting their narrative, and getting clear on what sets them apart.

Thanks Jenny for helping us navigate the challenges of work and careers so that we get to make choices that are in our best interests and so that we live ‘on purpose’. Thanks for showing us how to be less reactive in our work lives, and instead write our professional story in a way that serves us to live our best lives.

So maybe something to think about for 2022…

And just like that…

It’s the end of the year and time to recharge. I’ll be painting this commission, and its sister. I’ll still be pitching my clients to podcasts. But Brave New Girl podcast will be taking a break until January 2022 when series 5 will bring us more real women like us, with courageous stories to tell.
